Twittering is a newly popular micro-blogging program that setups up a feed of posts limited to only 140 characters. Here is a nytimes video piece describing it’s appeal. Twitter itself uses video and a kind of handmade animation aesthetic to illustrate it’s functionality.

Prior to twitter, the word “twit,” was largely thought of it terms of it’s slang meaning. It’s origin’s supposed date to the 18th century and the British slang for idiot. And lastly, there is also TWiT or This Week in Tech with Leo Laporte and friends, a network of podcasts focused on new media and technology.
