For today’s post, I thought I would focus on the US presidential election as the election is nearing it’s end and there have been some interesting uses of design in the race for the white house. The most prominint of these is the obama logo. There is even an online tool where you can upload your own image into the obama logo. This logo evokes an earlier 1920 or 30’s style of screen printing and even woodblock prints. The field imagery also suggests an agricultural/rural perspective, e.g. the heartland of America.

Another interesting image from the campaign is the fact that the designer Shepard Fairey, had designed a poster for Obama. This is the same designer who is famous for his image of Andre the Giant.
