Saw your post that mentioned fan films and how one could/should consider the context that they’re made in. For LOTS of context on fan productions, you might want to look into my recent book, Homemade Hollywood, which covers the history and future of the form, from the 1920s to today’s backyard efforts. It’s a mix of mainstream and academic views, and has gotten a thumbs-up from no less than Henry Jenkins himself.
